Conditions Applying to fishing Licence Sales- New Zealand.

Your licence contributes towards the management and protection of New Zealand’s sports fishery and hunting resources. Because you are making your contribution we have to try and make sure that other users also make their contribution. That is why we have rangers who check that anglers and hunters have licences.

YOU MUST PURCHASE AND SIGN YOUR LICENCE BEFORE YOU GO FISHING OR HUNTING.

You must have your licence with you at all the times you are fishing or hunting or carrying assembled fishing or hunting gear.

If you purchased your licence over the Internet or the 0800 telephone service, and you wish to fish or hunt before you have received it, you may, but you must carry:

• 1. Some form of positive identification, ie a driver’s licence. This is so that if a ranger asks you for your licence you can prove who you are.
• 2. Your licence ID number which will be given to you at the time of sale.

Licences are valid in NZ only.
Fishing licences do not cover the Taupo region. Please refer to the DOC website for more information on fishing in Taupo.

Licences are not upgradeable, exchangeable or refundable. Report lost or stolen licences to your local Fish and Game office and they’ll issue you with a replacement.
